FANOA — From Novel to Anime
For the fans, by the fans, to the fans: how fan support turns eligible stories into manga, anime, drama and live-action — and exactly where the money goes.
Some stories never move beyond the page because the creator lacks access to artists, studios, production teams or the funding required to take the story further. FANOA exists to create another route. It allows audiences to do more than simply discover a story — fans can help demonstrate which stories they believe deserve to move forward, and may financially support eligible projects toward their next creative milestone. FANOA is operated by PeakCraft Studios Private Limited as part of the Peakime ecosystem.
FANOA is built on one honest promise: whoever pays for a story’s adaptation is the one it is made for. When fans fund a project, the result belongs to every fan, free to watch. When PeakCraft funds a project with its own money, PeakCraft may monetise it to recover that investment. Nothing is hidden behind vague language — this page explains what you get as a fan, what a creator earns, what PeakCraft offers, and precisely where every rupee goes.
60/40 split, same as everywhere else
Fan donations use Peakime’s standard Creator Earnings split — 60% creator, 40% Peakime. No separate FANOA formula.
Fan-funded = 100% free
Anything produced with fan donations has no Peak Coin unlock and no subscription gate. Ever.
Peakime’s share funds other creators
Peakime’s 40% isn’t profit — it’s pooled back into FANOA to back projects that don’t get enough donations on their own.
PeakCraft can fund it too
For high-ranked stories fans couldn’t fully fund, PeakCraft may invest its own money — and may monetise the result to recoup it.
The FANOA Journey
A creator may begin by writing a story in Peakpen. The story may reach readers through Peakovels. Readers can follow the creator and form communities through Peakit. If the work attracts interest and becomes eligible for FANOA, Peakime may create an opportunity for fans to support its next stage — visual development, a Peakart webtoon, manga or comic, then an animated scene, proof of concept, AI-assisted adaptation or AI drama, and for projects with sufficient creative, audience and commercial potential, professional animation, anime, film, live action or television. Not every project follows every step; the purpose of FANOA is to create a path, not to force every story into the same production formula.
Why We Call It Fan-Owned
In conventional production models, audiences often encounter a work only after a studio has decided what will be produced. FANOA gives communities a meaningful way to demonstrate demand earlier — fans help influence which stories gain momentum by choosing which creators and projects they support. That is what "for the fans, by the fans, to the fans" means in practice: fans decide what gets made, fans fund it, and fans are the first and permanent audience for it.
Supporting a Project
Eligible FANOA projects may display a funding or support target associated with a defined creative milestone — for example, converting a novel into an initial webtoon chapter, producing a character-development package, or creating an animated pilot. Peakime may allow supporters to contribute using supported payment methods, Peak Coins, or other approved mechanisms depending on the project and platform. Where a user interface uses casual language such as "support" or "donate," the legal nature of an ordinary FANOA transaction remains a project support contribution unless PeakCraft expressly states otherwise — FANOA is not presented as a charitable donation programme merely because fans are supporting creators.
There is no minimum contribution. Any amount a fan chooses to give is a complete and welcome act of support — FANOA is built so a story’s fate depends on how many fans care, not on how much any single fan can afford.
Funding Models and Partial Funding
A FANOA project may use flexible funding, threshold funding, or an all-or-nothing model — the project identifies which applies before supporters contribute. Under all-or-nothing, funds are finally applied to the planned production only once the specified condition is met. Under a flexible model, available support may be used toward proportionate development even when the original target is not fully reached.
One of FANOA’s core ideas is that partial support can still create meaningful progress. If a flexible-funded project cannot afford the complete production originally proposed, Peakime and the project team may scale the production to the resources actually available — a complete animated episode might become a shorter sequence, then a teaser, then professional storyboards or another proof of concept. Where the planned output changes materially, supporters should receive an appropriate project update.
What Happens if the Goal Is Reached
Reaching the financial target means the project has reached the funding condition associated with that milestone — it does not mean the creative work appears instantly. Productions may still require contracts, rights verification, schedules, artists, animators, editing, voice work, rendering, software and other development processes. Peakime may provide estimated schedules, but creative-production timelines can change; a funding target is not an absolute promise of a specific release date unless the project expressly provides one as a binding commitment.
Fan-Funded Productions Are Completely Free to Watch
A manga, webtoon, AI-assisted anime, traditional anime, drama or live-action adaptation produced using fan-donated FANOA funds is released free to every Peakime user. There is no Peak Coin unlock, no subscription requirement and no premium gate on fan-funded FANOA productions.
What the Money Is Actually Spent On
Project support may be applied to reasonable production and development expenses — creator compensation, writing, adaptation, illustration, character design, storyboarding, webtoon or comic production, animation, AI-production workflows, voice production, music, editing, rendering, software, contractors, technical services and production management. Applicable taxes, payment-processing costs and disclosed programme costs may also affect the resources available for production. Peakime should not silently redirect project support to an unrelated creator project.
PeakCraft-Funded Productions May Be Monetised
PeakCraft Studios Private Limited may independently identify a project it believes deserves additional support — typically a story with strong community ranking and fan interest that did not receive enough direct donations to reach production on its own. PeakCraft may supplement fan support, finance development itself, provide artists or other production professionals, seek sponsors, or work with external studios or production partners, even before the community has funded the entire expected production cost.
Where Peakime commits its own capital and resources — rather than fan-donated funds — to complete a production, that production is different from an ordinary fan-funded FANOA project. Because PeakCraft is recouping its own commercial investment rather than distributing money that fans already contributed, a PeakCraft-funded production may be released with a subscription, Peak Coin unlock or other premium gate, in the same way as other Peakime TV content.
The Creator Remains Central
A creator does not automatically lose ownership of their story merely because it participates in FANOA. Before PeakCraft undertakes an adaptation requiring additional rights, the relevant creator or rightsholder may be asked to enter a separate agreement describing the adaptation, the rights licensed, exclusivity, territory, duration, creator compensation, revenue participation, credits, production responsibilities and ownership of newly created material. Peakime should not hide a universal rights transfer inside ordinary FANOA support terms.
Creator Verification and AI-Assisted Development
Before substantial production resources are committed, Peakime may verify that the creator is genuine and has sufficient authority over the submitted intellectual property — identity information, rights documentation, or collaborator information may be requested. A project should not move into substantial production if the submitting person cannot demonstrate the necessary rights.
AI may be used as one step in the FANOA production process — concept development, previsualisation, animation, drama, voice or other techniques where lawful and appropriately authorised — making it possible to visualise a story before the project has resources for a larger traditional production. It does not mean every final production will be AI-generated; where a project grows sufficiently, PeakCraft may consider more extensive human-led animation, professional anime, film, drama or live action, with the creator’s production rights still handled through the appropriate agreement.
Supporter Recognition
A FANOA project may recognise supporters through badges, credits, supporter status, early project updates, digital extras or other disclosed benefits. These benefits are not equity or intellectual-property ownership unless a specific legally compliant programme expressly says otherwise.
FANOA Contributions Are Not Investments
Ordinary FANOA support should not be treated as a financial investment. A supporter does not contribute money expecting guaranteed financial returns — a FANOA contribution does not guarantee profits, royalties, dividends, securities, or an increase in value. FANOA is designed to support creative development.
Refunds
The refund treatment depends on the project’s funding model, payment method, production status, applicable law and any specific project conditions. Where an all-or-nothing project fails to satisfy the stated condition, the project-specific process determines how the transaction is released, cancelled or refunded. Under flexible funding, failure to reach the full original target does not automatically create a refund where support is being applied to the disclosed scaled development of the same project. Where PeakCraft cancels a project before meaningful production expenditure or irreversible commitments, eligible unused support may be returned where appropriate and legally required. Refunds processed through an app marketplace or payment provider may also be subject to that provider’s rules. Payment questions: [email protected].
Project Changes and Cancellation
Creative production changes — a method may fail, an artist may become unavailable, a project may need a new format, rights issues may arise, or a project may take longer than initially expected. PeakCraft may therefore make reasonable changes to production format, schedule, staffing or scope when necessary, communicated through project updates.
A project may be cancelled where continuing becomes legally, technically, financially or creatively impractical — unresolved ownership disputes, loss of required rights, serious creator misconduct, production impossibility, or another material issue. If a project is cancelled, Peakime handles remaining project resources according to the applicable funding model, existing commitments, applicable payment rules and law.
No Guaranteed Adaptation
Being published on Peakovels does not guarantee FANOA selection. Being selected for FANOA does not guarantee a webtoon. A webtoon does not guarantee animation. A pilot does not guarantee a full series. Peakime and PeakCraft may consider audience interest, legal rights, budget, creator cooperation, artistic suitability, technical feasibility and commercial potential when deciding whether a work moves to another stage.
Fraud and Artificial Funding
Creators and supporters must not manipulate FANOA — fake support transactions, stolen payment instruments, self-funding through deceptive methods, coordinated circular transactions, false supporter accounts, or attempts to manufacture project popularity are all prohibited. Peakime may invalidate fraudulent activity and apply account enforcement.

FANOA is not a promise that every story becomes an anime — it is a real pathway, built honestly, so the stories fans care most about get a genuine shot at going further. Fans who fund a project watch it for free. Creators keep 60% of every rupee donated. Peakime’s share never sits idle as profit — it goes straight back into funding the next story. And where a story deserves a chance but hasn’t found its fans yet, PeakCraft is willing to bet on it directly.
